Fractional Derivative in Pressure Transient data Analysis with Phase Redistribution in Fractal Reservoir for Reservoir Characterization
نویسنده
چکیده
The present paper describes the fractional derivative use in a pressure transient data analysis with phase redistribution for fractal reservoir in a geological environment which is not possible by conventional methods. The application of pressure derivatives in pressure transient test data interpretation by reservoir engineers is common place since the work done by Bourdet et al. in 1989 on this subject. The analysis of such type of data in reservoir characterization is well known as inverse problem. The fractal geometry in a dynamic pressure transient tests data plays a vital role for heterogeneity characterization.

متن کاملReservoir Rock Characterization Using Wavelet Transform and Fractal Dimension
The aim of this study is to characterize and find the location of geological boundaries in different wells across a reservoir. Automatic detection of the geological boundaries can facilitate the matching of the stratigraphic layers in a reservoir and finally can lead to a correct reservoir rock characterization. Nowadays, the well-to-well correlation with the aim of finding the geological l...
متن کاملA Fully Integrated Method for Dynamic Rock Type Characterization Development in One of Iranian Off-Shore Oil Reservoir
Rock selection in modeling and simulation studies is usually based on two techniques; routinely defined rock types and those defined by special core analysis (SCAL). The challenge in utilizing these two techniques is that they are frequently assumed to be the same, but in practice, static rock-types (routinely defined) are not always representative of dynamic rock-types (SCAL defined) in the re...
متن کاملPressure Transient Analysis for Non-Newtonian Power-Law Fluid Flow in Double Porous Media and Fractal Reservoirs
This paper presents a mathematical model for transient flow of the non-Newtonian power-law fluid in double porous media and fractal reservoir. By using Douglas-Jones predictor-corrector method, we obtain the solution for the constant rate condition at a single well in an infinite reservoir. The flow behavior is also analyzed. Finally, we discuss the pressure response to the various parameters. ...
متن کاملAn Intelligent System’s Approach for Revitalization of Brown Fields using only Production Rate Data
State-of-the-art data analysis in production allows engineers to characterize reservoirs using production data. This saves companies large sums that should otherwise be spend on well testing and reservoir simulation and modeling. There are two shortcomings with today’s production data analysis: It needs bottom-hole or well-head pressure data in addition to data for rating reservoirs’ characteri...
